Großglockner Hochalpenstraße

This can only be described as an attraction that anyone who visits the holiday region Nationalpark Hohe Tauern (national park High Tauern) simply must have seen. At and altitude ranging between 800 and 2.500 m you will experience vegetation areas normally found in Antarctica. A spectacular view from this over 30.000 m high mountain, and hence Austria's highest, is guaranteed. Various guides along the street explain the alpine flora and fauna as well as the history of this masterpiece of road construction. With patience, and a little luck, you will get to see groundhogs as well as steinbocks in their natural habitat.

Stauseen Tauernkraftwerk Kaprun

Open between the beginning of May until mid-October. Explore the fascinating power plant group Glockner-Kaprun. Its artificial lakes Wasserfallboden as well as the Moserboden render this compound one of the national landmarks of Austria. Duration of the tour approx. 4 to 5 hours.
